This is a series of self-portraits shot in my home studio. If you look closely, every image is lit in blue, and I am highlighting aspects of myself that society would consider to be flaws. The message here is that our flaws make up who we are too. We need to embrace them in order to radically love ourselves in totality.
This series was inspired by a poem I wrote entitled “Imperfect Shapes” and can be seen on my blog here: https://focalnomad.com/2018/10/03/imperfect-shapes/
This is a calendar at the end of 2018 I created for an ex-partner of mine. We were in a long-distance relationship and had an on-going joke about silly topless photos, in an over-the-top pinup style. When a month after making this for him I was dumped for my birthday, I decided to publish this calendar and make it available for sale. Shortly after I had my first breast cancer scare, so I decided that the proceeds would go to breast cancer research.
